The influence of Waterhog mats
Waterhog mats are the most effective mats in the business at preventing dirt and water – but what makes these mats so effective?
We offer a wide variety of commercial mats, as you are surely aware. However, we like our Waterhog mats. These are the industry standard for commercial usage in regions where there will be a lot of foot traffic.
These mats should be installed at the entrance to any business in a wet weather area.
Waterhog mats are available in various colors, trap 1.5 gallons of water per square yard, and are all manufactured in the United States.
Bi-level dirt-trapping construction
Unlike typical entry matting, which has a flat carpet top, a Waterhog mat has two levels: An upper level and a lower level. A Waterhog mats top-level scrapes and scrubs footwear, which is then placed in the mat’s bottom level until it is cleaned. Because the dirt sinks below the walking surface, it is not dragged inside your building by the footwear of your next and subsequent guests.
Damnation of water
Waterhog mats include a dam mechanism that can hold up to 6.5 liters of water per square meter. This helps to avoid the accumulation of excess water, particularly during inclement weather and reduces the danger of slip and fall incidents. Because the mats are absorbent, they will dry rapidly!
Tough and long-lasting
Waterhog mats are very durable due to their reinforced rubber nubs. Even in heavy usage locations, a Waterhog mat will last for years. They are quite popular in schools, where they will last for 5 years or more, with thousands of feet walking over them every day.

Mats for drying
If the mat is dry, shake it thoroughly before vacuuming it using a commercial or industrial vacuum that has far more power than a domestic vacuum. (When shaking out mats, always shut your eyes to avoid getting dirt or dust in your eyes.)
Dry mats should be shaken and vacuumed at least once a day. If the mats get very dusty due to high traffic, shake them out and vacuum them more than once a day.
Mats that are wet
Wet Waterhog mats, as well as dry ones that need a thorough cleaning, should be hosed off. If feasible, tilt the mat slightly and water it off from one end to the other with a vigorous jet (not a power washer).
It’s definitely not required, but you can also use shampoo and steam clean them while hosing them down. After that, put them flat to dry.
Maintain the cleanliness of your mats
Mats that are clean will always surpass mats that are dirty. As a result, keep your mats clean on a regular basis and have spare mats on hand so that you may replace dirty ones with clean ones when necessary.
The fact that mats take many hours to dry means that you will need a second mat in its place while the first one dries.
